Top wedding band hire, Apollo Soul, deliver award winning set

Apollo Soul always check out their venue several times before the big day to guarantee they utilise the space available to them. The wedding band was hired for the evening entertainment. Their service is stream lined, arriving at 18.00 prompt, they efficiently set their stage and perform sound checks. The lighting system at the venue was a little outdated but luckily Apollo Soul came up with a brilliant idea. The back drop behind the band area was a little dull, but they brought a fairy light curtain, it looked as if someone had set off hundreds of sparklers, the lights flickered and danced behind them, illuminating the stage.

wedding band apollo liveThe day had been filled with nerves, warmth, tears of joy, laughter, and the overwhelming emotion of love, that doesn’t feel as though it can’t fit within a human body. Therefore, when the guests filtered into the evening reception, the band wanted to spark everyone’s excitement. The saxophone sounded first, sending shivers down the spines of guests, awakening them for an evening of dancing and delight. The first set blended old classics, ‘Stand by me,’ by Ben E King, to modern day music, ’Perfect,’ by Ed Sheeran. The wedding band was carried off stage by an uproar of whistles and happy hands. During the short interlude, the couple cut the cake, that wasn’t a cake at all but blocks of cheese stacked up high.

Apollo Live returned to the stage, the air was thin, the night was dark and the sky was full of electric stars. When asked what was most memorable about their night, there was a particular moment that stood out to the couple. Earlier, in the upcoming months Paula’s grandmother had enquired if the band could play the song her, and her late husband, had danced to on their wedding day. Apollo Soul jumped at the idea, and quickly spun unknown notes into magic. Paula’s Grandmother asked her daughter for a solo dance, they held each other close as they swayed to ‘You go to my head,’ by Billy Holiday. The reasons for the recommendation of Apollo Soul by the venue, was due to the real-rock star feel of the band, and also the small details that made Paula and Marko’s day incredibly unique. Manor by the lake is particularly popular in the warm seasons, hosting outdoor weddings, with three different locations where the couple can promise, I do. The venue has a unique feel, it feels as though life has been stripped down, all the loud, nonsense of the world fades away. The thick forest block out any noises from the surrounding areas. Paula and Marco booked the venue after seeing it for the first time. Their theme was a story book wedding, Paula claimed the surrounding gardens reminded her of the classic tale of Snow White, she walked with a small bounce in her step across the wooden bridge. The sun was beaming through the threes, the wood was warm to touch, the crunching of dry leaves under her feet, and the small scurrying sound of small animals running around, like it was taken from the page and painted into reality.

Another great aspect about the venue was the service they offered. They helped the couple with the organisation, making the, sometimes stressful process, easy and enjoyable. When searching for the nigh time entertainment, Manor by the Lake recommended a band that has previously played a wedding a couple of months before. Apollo Soul, there was something about the way they performed, not only in their set’s but as a band, as people who were there to give their best to ensure everyone, young, old, had a unforgettable evening.
